Research on Intelligent Retrieval System for Agricultural Information Resources based on Ontology

Abstract

There has been a meteoric rise in the availability of agricultural information resources due to the proliferation of computers
and the Internet. Due to its inability to do semantic analysis and semantic extension, the conventional method of information
retrieval that relies on keyword matching has poor retrieval efficiency, a high rate of missed and erroneous detections, and a lot
of wasted retrieval resources. In this research, we build an ontology for the agricultural domain using the Scientific and Technological
Knowledge Organization (STKOS) architecture. We then use this ontology for semantic annotation, query extension,
and result sorting. In order to enhance the retrieval efficiency of agricultural information resources and boost user happiness,
this research builds an intelligent retrieval system based on domain ontology.
