Abstract

Throughout its sixty-plus year history, artificial intelligence (AI) has gone through both prosperous and prosperous times.
Recent years have seen an uptick in AI capabilities, thanks to developments in big data and supercomputers. A new wave of
researchers is showing interest in studying the next generation of artificial intelligence, which is growing at a fast pace. This study
presents a collection of research proposals for information systems (IS) researchers and attempts to highlight the problems related
to the usage and effect of revitalized AI-based decision-making systems. This research begins by surveying the literature on
artificial intelligence (AI) from the International Journal of Information Management (IJIM). Following this, the article delves
into AI’s decision-making capabilities in broad strokes, focusing on the unique challenges of integrating and interacting with
AI to either supplement or replace human decision-makers. In order to move the field of artificial intelligence (AI) for decision
making forward in the Big Data age, this article presents twelve research proposals for IS researchers to consider regarding the
theoretical and conceptual development of AI, the interaction between AI technology and humans, and the application of AI.
